British boys do it big at Silverstone

Mercedes front row lock out with drivers George Russell and Sir Lewis Hamilton first and second for tomorrow’s British Grand Prix

In a thrilling qualifying session, Mercedes’ George Russell claimed pole position for tomorrow’s British Grand Prix with a solid lap time of 1:25.819, reports Damian Hall from Silverstone.

Sir Lewis Hamilton will start alongside his teammate in second place showcasing the strength of Mercedes on both drivers’ home turf.

Completing an impressive showing for the British drivers, McLaren’s Lando Norris secured third position, ensuring three Brits will lead the charge in tomorrow’s race.

The field faced challenging weather conditions, but the trio demonstrated exceptional skill and composure, delivering when it mattered most. 

Adding to the excitement, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri will start in fifth place, just behind three-time world champion Max Verstappen who could only manage 4th with the Honda powered Red Bull car. 

The dynamic between the two McLaren drivers who Verstappen finds himself starting between, promises an intense battle, especially with the two teammates known for their strong collaborative strategy.

As the anticipation builds for tomorrow’s race, all eyes will be on the Brit boys to see if they can convert their qualifying success into race-day triumph.

While the stage is set for a potentially explosive contest between Verstappen, Lando and Piastri, the race promises to be a nail-biting affair, with the whole crowd split three ways and the British trio at the forefront of the action.
