Pain for the Barbados-born driver

Zane Maloney only managed a 14th place finish in the sprint race in Hungary after engine failure forced the Barbadian driver to start from the back, writes Damian Hall.
Set to begin the race in 3rd position, Maloney’s hopes were dashed when his engine failed during the formation lap, relegating him to a pitlane start.
With 21 drivers ahead, Maloney faced the daunting task of joining the race only after all cars had passed the pit exit.
Despite the setback, the 21-year-old displayed impressive skill and determination, climbing up to 14th position in just 28 laps.
Though he did not earn any points in the sprint race—where only the top 8 receive points – his recovery showcased his resilience and potential.
The Formula 1 hopeful’s effort was commendable, setting the stage for the feature race on Sunday (July 21).
Starting in 8th position, all eyes will be on Maloney to see how much he can gain in the longer race where strategy will be crucial.
